Papered: Hanging Yarn Birds

In my previous post, I have shared a DIY of Yarn Birds so now I am sharing an idea to use these yarn birds for making Hanging Birds. Hope you all like it and also you can do many other things with the yarn birds.

Let’s start the procedure:

Step 1: You can learn to make the Yarn Birds by clicking here. For this DIY, procedure is same except that we are not using wire claws here. Prepare two such yarn birds without claws.

Step 2: Take an old magazine and tear its pages. Now roll these pages to form a thick tube. Cut the edges of the tube to get a perfect cylinder. You can decide length as per your choice.

Now take a newspaper page and divide it into small rectangles. Paste these rectangles on the cylinder surface. Place a rectangular piece on the hollow base of the cylinder to cover it and paste it. Repeat it for another hollow base. Use mixture of glue and little water for pasting and also apply this mixture all over the surface of the cylinder. Lastly, color the entire cylinder with the brown color.

Step 3: Now insert light brown color yarn into the needle hole. Insert the needle and thread into the base of the bird and roll the yarn on the tube to attach the bird on it. Do this for another bird also and follow the image for better understanding.

Step 4: Take a rectangular piece of cardboard whose side must cover the birds on the tube. Paste this cardboard at bottom of the birds and tube so that both birds sit on the cardboard.

Step 5: Take brown color yarn and cut three equal strings from it. Join three string and tie a knot at one end. Tie two ends at both the ends of the tube. Make a hole in the cardboard between the two birds as shown in the image. Then insert the third string’s end in this hole and tie a knot.

Step 6: Now take pink color sheet and prepare small roses out of it. If you don’t know how to make roses then click here to know. Paste these roses randomly on tube or around the birds.

Step 7: It’s time to paste leaves on the tube. For that you can prepare leaves from a green color paper. Also you can use plastic leaves like I have used. Again paste these randomly here and there around the tube and birds.
