Origami Bonsai Tree

Today I am sharing a DIY for your Home Décor. It is a beautiful Mini Bonsai Tree which is super cute and adorable. I will be showing you all how to make it using a newspaper.

Let us start the procedure:

Step 1: Take a page from newspaper and locate its center randomly. Fold the center as shown in image and tie a rubber band on it. Then start twisting the paper and move upwards to form the stem. With scissor, cut the edges of the paper at the top and twist them separately which will become the branches of the Tree. Follow as shown in the image.

Step 2: Now you have the basic structure of a tree with stem and branches. Remove the rubber band and cut the strips at the bottom part. Twist each strip separately which will become the roots of the tree. Mix white glue with little water and apply all over the tree structure. Let it dry properly.

Step 3: Take a yarn of brown color and start rolling it on the tree. Cover the stem, branches and roots of the tree with yarn. Any part where newspaper is shown cut it with the scissor. Follow the image as shown below.

Step 4: Next we will paste leaves and flowers on the branches. Take a pink colored crepe paper and follow the steps in the image to make small flowers. Cut a small circle and locate its center. Now start twisting from the center and secure it with glue. You can paste any type or any color of flower as I did.

Step 5: Take a green colored crepe paper and cut small leaves out of it. Paste the leaves and flower on the branches of the tree.

Step 6: We will make the base of the tree. For this, you will need Plaster of Paris. Mix Plaster of Paris with water properly such that there are no lumps. Paste should be thick and smooth. Place the tree in a plastic bowl and hold it straight. Transfer the paste into the bowl and let it dry for at least 10-12 hours.

Step 7: Color the bottom part of the base with black and surface of the base with green color.

Step 8: Take white colored small stones. If you don’t have them just skip this step. Paste the stones on the boundary of the base as shown in the image.

Step 8: Take green colored crepe paper and cut small pieces of it. Then crush each piece and paste it between the stones boundary of the base. These pieces will become the grass on the base.

Your little Bonsai Tree is ready!!

Happy DIY!!
