Hanging Nest

Craft is an art of making things by taking some inspiration from our surrounding. Birds on trees and their nest has inspired me to create this wonderful DIY of making Yarn Nest. All bird lovers will surely love this amazing craft and also it is absolutely apt for your home décor. Let us look at the procedure now.

You will need a balloon and yarn for this DIY. Blow the balloon up to the size that you want your nest to be. Take yarn ball and start wrapping the balloon with the yarn. Balloon should be fully covered with the yarn as shown in the figure. Now mix white glue with equal amount of water and form a nice solution. Apply this solution on the balloon on each and every string so that solution gets fully absorbed into the yarn. Let this balloon rest for a night or day to get dry properly. Next day, carefully prick the balloon with the needle and take out the pieces of balloon out of the yarn. At this point, you will have round yarn ball after pricking the balloon inside it. Cut a small leaf from yarn ball as shown in the image.

Cut a long string out of the yarn and fold it for 9 times. Now tie a knot at the top of this folded string with the string of yarn. Make three groups of rest of the folded string and form a braid of them. Leave some part at the end loose and insert this part inside the yarn ball from the top. Secure this end in the yarn ball with the hot glue gun.

Take any three flowers and tape them at the piece of the yarn ball that was cut earlier. Insert this piece into the yarn ball. I have a small Cute Pom Pom Bird that I have shared on the blog as well. You can use any bird that you have. Place the bird inside the nest and secure it with double sided tape.

Hanging Nest is ready and just hang it anywhere in your house to feel close to the nature.

Happy DIY!!
