Papered: Jewelry Box

In this post, we will see how to make a super easy Jewelry Box. It is just a box and you can use it for any purpose. Earlier also I have shared a DIY of Utility Box made up of newspaper but this box is quite different from that one. Let’s get started with the procedure!!

You will need some old magazines for making this box. If you don’t have magazine then you can use any old book or old newspapers. Divide each page of magazine into two halves vertically. Roll each half vertically into small tubes which must be of equal size. We will need quite a lot of tubes for the box so make them in quite a good number.

Now make six batches of 14 paper tubes and paste tubes of each batch together to form a mat. So at the end of this step, you must have six mats having 14 tubes in each mat. Also make sure to paste tubes along their length with each other.

Next, cut five rectangles of size as that of the mats and paste on each mat. You can use cover of magazines for this or can also thick sheets for this. Similarly cut five rectangles from any colored sheet and paste them on the top rectangles pasted in previous step.

Now start pasting these mats to form an open box whose one side is open. Once done, color this box with any water color. Next, take the last mat which we haven’t used yet. Paste two tubes on all the four sides of this mat. Then make two coils of paper tubes of two sizes and paste on the mat at the center pasting bigger coil first and then smaller coil on the top. Color this mat as well with any color of your choice. Lastly, decorate the mat with beads by pasting them on all the four corners of this mat and you done with this Jewelry Box.
