Papered: Cute Kitty Keychain

Here’s the post of DIY Kitty Keychain which is a perfect craft idea for kids. I have made this for gifting it to my little sister who just loves this Hello Kitty. This DIY is super easy to make and you will need very few things for it. Let’s get started with the procedure:

Firstly you will need some quilling strips and I have used white colored strips but you can opt for the colored ones as well. Join around 14-15 quilling strips from end to end and make a coil with the slotted tool. Make sure that coil should not be too tight or too loose as it may affect the coil while pulling it out from the slotted tool. Once the coil is done, secure the end of the coil and pull it out of the slotted tool. Now using your fingers, push the coil in outwards direction to form a dome. Then apply glue all over the dome to keep it in place.

Take another quilling strip and quill it on the slotted tool. Once done, don’t secure the end with glue instead just pull it out of the slotted tool. Let the coil open a bit and then using fingers give it a triangular shape. Once done, secure the end with glue and also apply glue all over the shape to secure it. Prepare one more such triangular shape coil of same size.

Take a thin paint brush and a quilling strip. Now coil the strip on this paint brush so that we can have a hole at the center of the coil. Once done, secure the end and apply glue all over the coil.

As we are done with all the parts so we will now assemble them. Paste coil with a hole at the edge of the bigger dome. Paste one triangular coil at one side of the coil with hole and another on the other side. Color the face of the kitty with white and a top coat of silver color. Then color the edge of the dome and other coils with the purple color.

Now we will make a small cute bow for the kitty. Take small rectangular paper of pink color. Fold the rectangle into half along the length. Then using scissor, cut a leaf shape from it. Open the leaf and paste the tips or end of the leaf at the center of the leaf. Now take a thin strip of same pink colored paper. Wrap the strip around the center of the leaf where you have pasted its ends. Wrap only once and cut the excess pasting it with the glue. Bow is done and paste it at the top right below the triangular shaped coil. With the black color, draw two eyes and hairs on the face. Lastly, cut a small circle of yellow colored paper and paste it under the two eyes to make the mouth of the kitty.

At the end, take two small and big metallic loops. Insert these loops into the coil having hole the center. Voila!! You’re cute Kitty Keychain is ready.
